Bhubaneswar: Acting on the guidelines of the Centre on precautionary measures to be taken during Durga Puja, Odisha government will review the daily cases in the districts during the festival.
Informing the media after a virtual meeting of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with the Health Department on Saturday, Director, Health Services Bijay Mahapatra said the Health Department will have the challenge to contain the spread of the virus.
“There is a strong possibility that the rate of infection will go up if people do not adhere to the COVID protocol strictly,” he said.
Referring to the twin cities where the rate of infection remains higher than other cities, Mohapatra said the focus will be now to ensure strict adherence to the COVID protocols. “The Municipal Commissioners, health officials and the police have been told to ensure that there will be no large congregation of the people at any place in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack,” he pointed out.

Apart from the twin cities, the Health Department will review daily COVID cases in all the districts during the puja festival, he added.
