Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will soon roll out the CM Kisan Yojana replacing the existing KALIA scheme with an aim to effectively empower the farmers, the state Assembly was informed on Wednesday.
This information was given by Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo, who holds the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment portfolio.
In a written answer to a question by BJP MLA Manas Kumar Dutta on modalities put together by the government towards welfare of farmers, the Deputy CM said that the flagship programme is all set to be implemented in the State.
Under the scheme, small and marginal farmers are entitled to get Rs 4000 in two phases (Rs 2000 in each phase) annually. This apart, landless farmers will receive Rs 12,500 in three phases from the state government.
To avail the benefit under the new schemes, the farmers will have to register on the CM Kisan web portal.
