Bhubaneswar: The state government will soon set up 24 Industrial Technical Institutes (ITIs) to impart additional training in various trades.
Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Premananda Nayak said this during Question Hour in the Assembly on Saturday.
The minister informed that there are 49 government and 418 private ITIs in Odisha at present.
Besides, the government will also establish science centres in all 30 districts.
“Teachers dealing with the subject will be sent to Bangalore for training in phases. The first group of teachers will go to Bangalore on September 24,” Science and Technology Minister Ashok Panda told the Assembly.
