Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will take up development and beautification of Budhi Thakurani temple in Berhampur city of Odisha’s Ganjam district.
Secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian on Sunday visited the temple and offered puja to the deity on the last day of Thakurani Yatra in the city.
Pandian held a meeting with the servitors and management committee members of the temple and local representatives of the people regarding development of the Devi shrine. He was informed about the need for adequate facilities for the stay of hundreds of devotees coming from different parts of the state and outside to the temple.
The secretary directed the district administration to draw up a detailed report on the project for development and beautification of the temple and submit it to the government within 15 days.
Berhampur MP Chandrasekhar Sahu, MLA Bikram Panda, mayor and member of state planning board Ramesh Chandra Choupatnaik besides district collector participated in the meeting.
