Odisha Govt To Take Up Transformation Of 70 Schools & Colleges In Jagatsinghpur

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government would take up 70 colleges and higher secondary schools under 5T Transformation at a cost of Rs 32.50 crore in Jagatsinghpur district.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the proposal for transformation of the schools and colleges including Sanskrit colleges in the district, said secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian during an interaction with the students at SVM Autonomous College ground in Jagatsinghpur on Thursday.

He was on a visit to the district to review the progress of various developmental works and address public grievances.

He visited Siali sea beach in Ersama block and assured the locals that measures for prevention of soil erosion under sea beach conservation project would be considered on priority basis at a cost of Rs 40 crore. Recalling the devastation of the Super Cyclone in Ersama in 1999, he said the Chief Minister is determined to strengthen Odisha’s disaster management system.

The secretary also visited Mission Shakti Port Side Container Sales & Café at Paradip and interacted with the Mission Shakti groups operating it. He appreciated the innovative project and assured the Mission Shakti group members of the government’s support for further extension of marketing facility.

Pandian went to Biju Convention Centre at Paradip and interacted with WSHG members of Paradip ULB, local people and others. During his visit to ITI in the port town, he interacted with the students and emphasised on skill based learning.

He visited Jiban Jyoti Terracotta Producer Group at Fatepur under Kujanga block. During his visit to Kunjabihari temple at Gadakujanga, he interacted with the servitors, temple committee members and devotees regarding preparation of DPR for temple development and facilities for the pilgrims.

At BB High School Ground in Kujang, the 5T secy interacted with local public and heard their grievances and assured for timely redressal. He also went to Nabakrushna Choudhury stadium in Jagatsingpur and interacted with WSHG members, MBKs, Bank Mitras and CRPs.

Secretary, Sports & Youth Services, R Vineel Krishna, Jagatsinghpur Collector Parul Patawari, SP Rahul PR and district officials accompanied Pandian during the visit.
