Odisha Govt Waives Ground Rent For Durga, Lakshmi & Kali Pujas In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a major relief to puja committees across Odisha capital, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday announced a complete waiver of ground rent for organising Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja, and Kali Puja within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits.

The waiver applies to all major festive events, including Ravana Podi, immersion processions, and associated cultural programme to be held during the upcoming festive season.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the decision was made taking into account the immense social and cultural significance of these festivals and the overwhelming enthusiasm of the public.

The waiver will be applicable from October 17 to November 18 this year.

While announcing the concession, CM Majhi appealed to all puja committees to ensure that the celebrations are organised smoothly, maintaining peace, discipline, and eco-friendly practices throughout the festivities.
