Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday quashed reports about closure of schools till June 15 due to heatwave in the state.
The Information and Public Relations department, in a post in X (formerly Twitter), said that a purported government notification on closure of all government, aided and private schools due to heatwave till June 15, has been doing the rounds on social media.
‘The notification is fake and fabricated.”
The department warned that creating false impression among the people by such fake posts was punishable under law.
