Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is closely monitoring the work done through 5T schemes by the BJD regime and if any corruption is found, action will be taken, said School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Wednesday.
Addressing a query in the State Assembly, the Minister highlighted reports from Kendrapara where alleged cases of irregularity have come to the fore in the 5T School Transformation programme.
In Kendrapara, allegations of corruption to the tune of Rs 159 crore, pertaining to 354 5T schools have been reported, the Minister said.
“Minor works were done to beautify the schools instead of developing infrastructure. All activities under the programme will be thoroughly investigated,” Gond stated in the Assembly.
