Salepur: The head of Gynaecology department of Jagatsingpur district headquarters hospital, Rukmani Devi, succumbed to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Friday. She was 62.
She contracted the virus about 15 days ago.
Rukmani Devi was a noted gynaecologist in Salepur area and was known for her selfless service to the poor.
She is survived by two daughters.
