Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to sizzle under heatwave conditions with maximum temperature rising above 40 degree celsiue in at least 15 places of the state on Wednesday.
According to evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharsuguda was the hottest place in the state recording highest temperature of 42.9 degree Celsius. It was followed by Sambalpur with 42.6, Boudh 42.4, Talcher 42.2, Angul 42.1, Sundargarh & Balangir 42 degree.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered maximum temperature of 38.6 and 39 degree Celsius respectively.
According to the MeT office, the day temperature is likely to remain 40°C or more at a few places in interior Odisha during the next five days.
“Hot and discomfort weather is likely at a few places in coastal Odisha during the next 2 days and interior Odisha during the next 5 days. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside,” it said.
