Bhubaneswar: Well-known lawyer of the Orissa High Court and president of All Odisha Lawyers’ Association Bibhu Prasad Tripathy and 12 others have been designated as senior advocates in the state.
The Registrar General of the Odisha High Court has issued a notification regarding the conferment of this status on 13 lawyers including Tripathy.
As per the notification, the other lawyers who were designated as senior advocates are Sanjay Kumar Acharya, Anup Kumar Bose, Bansidhar Baug, Bibekananda Bhuyan, Bhabani Shankar Tripathi, Susanta Kumar Dash, Kamal Behari Panda, Amitav Das, Dayananda Mohapatra, Gopal Kumar Agarwal, Bigyan Kumar Sharma and Aditya Narayan Dash.
Tripathy started his legal career in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar after completing his studies from the National Law University, Bengaluru. As a first-generation lawyer in his family, he has earned a reputation for handling public interest cases related to the environment and providing justice to Dalits and tribals.
Later, he served as an Additional Public Prosecutor in the High Court for various departments of the state government for many years.
