Odisha Hockey World Cup: 4 Arrested For Black Marketing Tickets In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Four persons were arrested for allegedly black marketing tickets of the ongoing FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup matches in Bhubaneswar.

The accused were caught red-handed while black marketing tickets of the match between India and New Zealand held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, police said.

A team from Nayapalli police station caught the four while selling the tickets at high rates near gate No. 3 of Kalinga Stadium, they said.

Of those arrested, three are from outside Odisha while one is from Cuttack. The accused were selling the hockey match tickets at an exorbitant price.

The accused were selling tickets of Rs 200 for Rs 1,200 each, while Rs 2,000 was charged for a Rs 400 ticket. Police have seized eight tickets, four mobile phones and Rs 11,400 cash from their possession.

Earlier, Sahid Nagar police had arrested five persons, including an engineering student, last week for allegedly black marketing Hockey World Cup Matches.
