Odisha Honeytrap Racket: Archana’s Husband Jagabandhu Moves High Court For Bail

Cuttack: Jagabandhu Chand, husband of honeytrap racket kingpin Archana Nag, on Monday moved the Orissa High Court seeking bail in the sensational sextortion case.

Challenging Bhubaneswar court’s order rejecting his bail application, Jagabandhu has filed the bail petition in the High Court.

Earlier, the bail plea of Jagabandhu, who is lodged in the high-security  Jharpada Special Jail in Odisha capital, was rejected by Bhubaneswar ADJ court-2 on December 1.

He has sought bail in connection with the sex and extortion case, involving Archana’s aide Shradhanjali Behera.

Both Archana and Jagabandhu are slated to be produced before a court in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. While Archana’s 7-day remand in the custody of Enforcement Directorate (ED) is over, the central agency is likely to seek her remand again for further questioning.

Archana is accused of extorting money from bigwigs by blackmailing them with their intimate pictures and videos. The couple allegedly amassed over Rs 30 crore between 2018 and 2022 through this racket.
