Baripada: In a gruesome incident, a 28-year-old man allegedly killed his aunt in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha and surrendered before police with her severed head on Monday.
According to reports, the incident took place at Karakachia village, under Khunta police limits, and the accused was identified as Budharam Singh.
Following the death of his ailing four-year-old daughter a week ago, Budharam suspected that sorcery by his aunt, 60-year-old Demphar Singh, led to the kid’s death.
Witnesses said Budharam attacked Demphar around 11 am on Monday with a sharp weapon, severing her head from the body. As he headed towards the police station with the severed head in his hand, cops arrested him.
A case has been registered against Budhuram and an investigation is under way.
