Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has decided to repair roads in urban areas across the state well before the festival season begins, Housing and Urban Development minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said on Friday.
Municipal Corporation areas of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur will be prioritised followed by all other urban areas of Odisha for the repair work, he said.
The minister was addressing public representatives and officials of the Twin City at a coordination meeting for reviewing preparedness of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in view of the festive season ahead.
“All roads in urban areas of Odisha will be repaired by October 5. There will be no compromise in quality of work, the departments have been issued directions accordingly,” said Harichandan.
The H&UD minister further said that steps will be taken for covering all drains in Bhubaneswar. “There are complains from citizens about potholes on services roads along the national highway. This work will also be prioritised and completed before puja,” the Minister further said.
