Odisha IAS Officer Appointed Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs

New Delhi: Odisha-cadre IAS officer Rajesh Verma was on Sunday appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

He will replace Injeti Srinivas following the latter’s superannuation on May 31, 2020.

This 1987-batch office was posted as the Special Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare prior to this assignment. Before the central deputation, he was the Principal Secretary to Odisha Chief Minister and also served as the Principal Secretary, Energy Department.

The major IAS reshuffle approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet also saw another Odisha-cadre IAS officer, Niten Chandra, being appointed as Additional Secretary, Central Agency Section, Department of Legal Affairs.

The 1990-batch IAS officer is currently holding the position of Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training.
