Bhubaneswar: Director (Horticulture) Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya was detained on Monday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in the Odisha capital.
Sources said vigilance sleuths caught the 2009-batch IAS officer red-handed while accepting the bribe money, which he had allegedly demanded for passing a bill.
The information was received as a part of the feedback mechanism of ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative and accordingly a trap was laid.
His house and other places are being searched, the sources added.
