Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has promoted senior IAS officer Hemant Sharma, currently serving as Principal Secretary in the Department of Industries, to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary.
Sharma, a 1995-batch officer, is allowed to continue in the present position until further orders.
“In pursuance of sub-rule (2)(i) of rule 3 of the IAS (Pay) Rules, 2016, Shri Hemant Sharma, IAS(RR-1995) is allowed promotion to the Apex Grade i.e. Level-17 of the Pay Matrix in IAS. On promotion to the Apex Grade, Shri Sharma, IAS is appointed in the rank of Additional Chief Secretary and is allowed to continue in situ until further orders,” a notification issued on Wednesday by the General Administration & Public Grievances Department said.
Similarly, 1994 batch IAS officer Ranjana Chopra has been allowed proforma promotion to the Apex Grade i.e. Level 17 of the Pay Matrix in IAS.
