Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday appointed senior IAS officer Roopa Roshan Sahoo as Director, Teacher Education and State Council of Educational Research and Training (TE & SCERT).
According to notification issued by General Administration and Public Grievances department, Sahoo, who is serving as Special Secretary to Chief Minister, will remain in additional charge of Director, TE & SCERT. She also holds additional charge of Member-Secretary, Poverty and Human Development Monitoring Agency.
The appointment of Sahoo holds significance as the state government in recent months is according priority to school curriculum and pedagogy.
With education being a key focus area, the government decision to give Sahoo a new responsibility is expected to facilitate curricula that could match new aspirations. TE and SCERT is the nodal body for the purpose.
