Bhubanewar: The Odisha government on Thursday appointed Roopa Roshan Sahoo, IAS, as director, Teacher Education and State Council of Educational Research and Training (TE & SCERT).
According to an official order of General Administration and Public Grievance, Saho, who is serving as special secretary to chief minister, will remain in additional charge of director, TE & SCERT.
The appointment of the senior IAS officer holds significance as the state government has given priority to school curriculum and pedagogy of late.
With education coming under its focus area, the appointment of Sahoo will enable the government to move towards leadership and aspirational curriculum. TE and SCERT is the nodal body for the purpose.
