Bhubaneswar: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved empanelment of Odisha cadre IAS officer Saurabh Garg along with three other officers as secretary while his batchmate (1991) Anu Garg has failed to make it to the list.
On April 20, Saurabh Garg was appointed Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. The DoPT order, however, did not mention whether the new post of Garg is an additional charge along with his current position as CEO of UIDAI or a transfer to the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
Anu Garg, in turn, recently assumed charge as Development Commissioner (DC) of Odisha, the second most important post in state bureaucracy. She is the first woman to occupy this post.
