Odisha Fights Back: IAS Officer Skips Father’s Death Rituals, Joins Duty To Tackle Coronavirus

Bhubaneswar: Setting a precedent of extraordinary resolve and commitment, the principal secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, joined his duty a day after his father’s death to deal with the coronavirus situation in tOdisha.

The senior IAS officer Dhal had gone on leave after his father’s death on Monday. However, he joined his duty on Tuesday after performing the necessary rituals

The selfless act and the responsibility of the 1993-batch officer towards the larger interest of the state have been widely praised.
