New Delhi: Usha Padhee, joint secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been given additional charge as Director-General, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
She is the first woman and third IAS officer to have been appointed to the post.
Padhee took to Twitter to share the news.
The 1996-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer took charge after IPS officer Rakesh Asthana was posted as director-general of the Border Security Force (BSF) on August 17.
In May this year, Padhee’s central deputation was extended by two years.
