Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s athletes had a great day at the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, claiming 2 gold medals and a silver on Sunday.
Bapi Hansda scorched the track to win the Men’s 400m. Hansda beat off the challenge of Haryana’s Vikrant Panchal (silver) and Kerala’s Manu TS (bronze).
Odisha’s 4×100m Men’s Relay team members did themselves proud by setting a Games record en route to the gold.
The quartet of Lalu Prasad Bhoi, D Murty Jayram, Animesh Kujur and Amiya Mallick clocked 39.47 seconds to finish ahead of Tamil Nadu (40.08) and Kerala (40.73).
On Saturday, Kujur bagged the 100m gold a day earlier equalling the Games record.
