The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the name of Justice Indrajit Mahanty to be the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.
“Justice Mahanty is suitable in all aspects for being appointed as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court,” the Collegium said in the recommendation letter dated August 28.
While taking the decision, the Collegium had taken into consideration the fact that at present there is no Chief Justice from Orissa High Court, it added.
Notably, with the elevation of Justice S. Ravindra Bhat to the Supreme Court, the office of the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court would fall vacant shortly.
Justice Mahanty is currently posted as a Judge in Bombay High Court.
