Bhubaneswar: Police busted an inter-district robbers gang and seized 46 mobile phones from their possession on Tuesday.
According to reports, Jatni police arrested three persons involved in snatching mobile phones and recovered the looted phones besides two motorcycles and laptop from their possession.
The accused are Lipuni Das, Abhishek Mohapatra and Pratap Bhoi.
Informing about the arrest, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said the trio were wanted in at least 5 cases. Their targets were primarily commuters on the Tangi-Khurda Road. They had created a reign of fear in Khurda, Bhubaneswar and Puri because of mobile snatching.
As the robbers used to flee on stolen vehicles and used different SIM cards, they managed to give the police a slip every time, he added. They were also involved in vehicles thefts in Sambalpur.
