Bhubaneswar: In a minor IPS reshuffle, the Odisha government on Friday appointed B Radhika, who recently returned from central deputation, as chairman of Police Recruitment Board with additional charge of Director, SFSI.
Notably, the 1989-batch senior woman IPS officer had previously received a proforma promotion to the rank of Director General (DG) in the Odisha Police while serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. She was prematurely repatriated to the cadre on November 8.
She is reportedly among the top three contenders for the post of Odisha police’s top cop with DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal’s two-year term ending on December 31.
Similarly, IPS officer Shyni S, who is currently serving as the IGP in Training at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), has been given additional charge of Inspector General of Police for Crime Against Women (IGPCAW) & Child Welfare (CW).
IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh, who is presently working as the IGP of Central Range with an additional charge of SFSI Director, ntrusted with the additional role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC). He will report to the CMD of OPHWC, an official release said.
