Bhubaneswar: Saravana Vivek M, a 2015-batch Odisha-cadre IPS officer, on Wednesday took charge as SP Vigilance.
Saravana was among the six IPS officers who were transferred to non-election related posts following an ECI order on April 2 for conduct of free and fair elections. He was then serving as Berhampur SP.
All six officers were asked to join the state police headquarters and later assigned posts.
On April 5, the state government posted Saravana and former Angul SP Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra as SP Vigilance.
Saravana is an alumnus of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (MGMC&RI) Pondicherry and hails from Tamil Nadu.
