Odisha Journalist Navin Das’ Elder Son Found Dead, Murder Suspected

Bhubaneswar: Elder son of senior journalist Navin Das was found dead in a pond at Patrapada under Tomando police limits, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, on Sunday.

The editor of ‘Nirbhaya’ newspaper reached the spot and identified the body as that of his son Manish Anurag, who had been missing since last night.

Das had lodged a complaint at Infocity police station this morning, alleging that he was kidnapped from near his house at Chandrasekharpur.

The prima facie inquiry suggests that the 30-year-old was murdered and the body later dumped in the pond. A previous enmity is suspected to be the reason behind his death.

Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash soon reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. Further investigation is underway.
