Bhubaneswar: Senior journalist Ranjan Mohanty, who worked for popular Odia daily ‘Sambad’, passed away in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday. He was suffering from liver and kidney ailments.
Mohanty was Sambad’s representative in Betnoti block of the district.
After retiring from the armed forces, he began his journalism career with daily newspaper ‘Amari Katha’. He was also president of the journalists association in Betnoti block.
Sources said that after developing diabetes, he was suffering from various ailments related to liver and kidney for a long time. He was undergoing treatment at Jyoti Hospital in Balasore and then at SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
