Bhubaneswar: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, Nikunj Dhal on Wednesday launched the Mo Booth mobile app to streamline the voting process and make it smoother for the people of Khurda district.
The Mo Booth app would not only help voters locate their designated polling station but also help them know the current queue status at their respective polling booth and thus enable them to plan their visit accordingly.
Developed by the Khurda District Administration, the app is available in Android version and may soon be available in IOS module too.
According to sources, the app has distinct functionalities tailor-made for different personnel engaged in the electoral process, including Block Level Officers (BLO) and Sector Officers. The BLOs can utilise the app to update real-time queue statistics, which will help them to anticipate and address potential bottlenecks in the voting process. The Sector Officers can monitor crucial data such as polling party arrival status, mock poll and actual poll progress and polling completion status.
The app will enhance transparency and efficient queue management besides helping the Sector Officers promptly raise and address law and order concerns as well as any malfunctions of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
A central dashboard will be available for Sector Officers as well for District officers, the sources added.
