Bhubaneswar: The condition of Odisha Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik deteriorated on Wednesday and he is critical.
Naik, who tested positive for COVID-19, was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on April 20. He was subsequently shifted to the ICU on April 26.
He is on ventilator support and has been sedated.
A team of senior doctors released a statement advising that he be moved to a higher centre where Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) facility is available.
Naik, 54, is a member of the legislative assembly from Bhawanipatna.
