Sambalpur: The Sambalpur Cyber police on Thursday arrested Paresh Bhoi, an Economics lecturer of Dr Jhasketan Sahu College here, for allegedly sending a mail to principal Sandhyarani Mishra by creating a fake ID of the Higher Education Department.
The college is affiliated with Sambalpur University.
The email sent a few days ago mentioned corruption in clerk recruitment and asked the principal as to why action should not be taken against the irregularity. Suspecting foul play, Mishra directly contacted the department and found it to be a fake email.
She later lodged a complaint with the Cyber police here, which tracked down the lecturer for the offence.
The accused had learnt to create a fake email ID and deactivate the same to eliminate evidence by watching YouTube videos, police said.
