Bhubaneswar: BJD legislator Anant Narayan Jena was slapped with a fine of Rs 500 for illegal parking near AG Square here on Sunday.
Ironically, the Bhubaneswar Central MLA was there to attend a programme to create awareness about new traffic rules under the amended Motor Vehicle Act, 2019.
The MLA’s vehicle was reportedly parked at a no-parking zone. The Twin City Commissionerate Police issued the Rs 500 challan in the presence of Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo.
“My driver had parked the vehicle illegally on the road and was fined. All are equal before the law,” he said.
