Berhampur: Expelled BJD leader and Odisha legislator Pradeep Panigrahi on Wednesday alleged that his life is under threat and criminals are being hired to eliminate him.
According to reports, the Gopalpur MLA has claimed to have received information from reliable sources about an influential person hiring criminals to eliminate him.
“As per information, the person wants to remove me from his way as he thinks that I am posing threat to his interests,” the former Minister told reporters.
Describing the alleged development as serious, Panigrahi said his safety and security should be ensured as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is considered to be the cleanest and most efficient.
Though no one has directly threatened him or made any call to him, there is information that his life is under threat, the senior leader said, adding that this should be investigated by the agencies concerned.
Panigrahi further alleged that the state government officers are being asked not to hold discussions with him though he is a people’s representative and represents Gopalpur in the state Assembly.
The lawmaker also stated that If anything happens to him, his family or his workers, the Chief Minister, who is in charge of home department, will be responsible.
