Bhubaneswar: A team of Odisha legislators have left on one-day visit to Chilika lake for bio-diversity study on Friday.
According to sources, most of the MLAs are making the journey from Bhubaneswar to the lake on road. Four special buses carrying the legislators left Assembly campus left in the morning.
The team led by Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro will go around the lake in boats. They will be briefed about aquatic ecology and steps being taken to conserve its flora and fauna. Besides officials of Chilika Development Authority (CDA) and local administration, environmental experts will be part of the study tour.
The MLAs will also witness the exercises by Indian Navy at INS Chilika during their visit. The MLAs are scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar in evening.
Earlier, a team of the legislators had gone on such trip to Paradip Port in 2020.
