Bhadrak: The prime accused in cameraman Manas Swain murder case, Sarmistha Sethi and her associate Jhuna Bhoi were sent to jail were sent to Bhadrak Sub-Jail after they were produced in JMFC Court, Chandbali.
The editor of Bhubaneswar-based web-channel Sampoornaner was sent to jail after her remand period ended on Thursday.
Police said all the accused persons, including retired OIS Officer Niranjan Sethi, will depose before the court on April 11.
It may be mentioned that could allowed CB to take Sarmistha and Jhuna on a three-day remand on April 5 after their first remand of 5 days ended.
During the second phase interrogation, Jhuna revealed how Manas was beaten to death and even showed where the things used three split bamboo lathis and one wooden plank.
Jhuna had said she had thrown three split bamboo lathis and wooden plank through the window after the murder as per the instruction of Sarmistha. Jhuna has identified the murder weapons, the CB sources said.
These were recovered on leads shared by the ashram caretaker, who had thrown them through a window on the instruction from Sarmistha.
On April 4,a Crime Branch team had visited residence of Manas in Ranpur in Nayagarh district. His wife and brother identified the half burnt chappal and half burnt ear phone of Manas recovered from Chandikhol.
Police said that Manas was kidnapped and later killed for a microchip that is suspected to have contained obscene videos or photographs.

Manas of Ranpur in Nayagarh district was kidnapped from Bhadrak district on February 7. He was working as a cameraman for ‘Sampoorna’ and was allegedly murdered at Dayal Ashram in Bhubaneswar, where the web channel was operating. His body was exhumed from Badhipatna hills in Nayagarh district on March 12, a month after he went missing from Chandabali area in Bhadrak district.
