Bhubaneswar: After a marginal rise, the minimum temperature in Odisha is likely to drop by 3-4 degree Celsius in interior districts and by 2-3 degree Celsius in coastal districts in the next 2-3 days.
Weather scientist of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Uma Shankar Das attributed the rise in mercury level to wind from the Bay of Bengal in past 2-3 days. “The wind-wave from the east has, however, started weakening and the cold weather may return after Diwali,” he said.
In the last 24 hours, three places in the state recorded minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius or below. Sonepur was the coldest at 13.4 degree Celsius followed by Phulbani and Angul at 14 degree Celsius.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded the minimum temperature of 19.5 degree C and 22.0 degree C respectively.
