Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Literary Festival will be held in Odisha capital on November 5 and 6. The literary event, now in its 10th edition, is being organised at ITC Welcomhotel this year.
A total of 30 speakers from the fields of literature, cinema, media, and politics will attend the two-day literary meet, which will begin at 5.20 pm on November 5. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the festival and deliver a speech on “Reading is Becoming: The 21st Century Leader”.
Following this, programmes such as ‘Show and Tell Saving Cultural Practices’, two debate sessions on ‘Where is the new generation of Odia writers’ and ‘The Hijab Question: Who Decides Who Wears What’, and a masterclass on how to write a script will be held from 6.20 pm till 8.30 pm.
On November 6, there will be seven conversation sessions with Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi, and several eminent authors, a school debate on ‘Who Is better At Telling Indian stories Among Chetan Bhagat and Amish Tripathi’, and a debate session on Odia literature and cinema with actor-cum-director Prashanta Nanda, Film historian Surya Deo, Actor Sabyasachi Mishra, Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) Director Himansu Sekhar Khatua, and Filmmaker Sanjoy Patnaik. The second day of the literary fest will begin at 10.30 am and continue till 5.20 pm.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will give the valedictory address on ‘My State, The Soul of Stories.’
