Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has asked all milk unions to reduce procurement for the current month in view of the decline in demand during lockdown.
OMFED informed the milk unions that distribution has dropped due to the lockdown.
The federation cited that accumulation of milk at dairy level for a longer period will lead to deterioration of the shelf life of milk which may not be safer for production of milk powder. Moreover, there will be challenges in maintaining quality, the letter reads.
