Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday issued a helpline number — 8093028100 — for senior citizens in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
This helpline number will ensure that senior citizens, who are more vulnerable to COVID-19, will stay in their homes during the lockdown and shutdown, Commissioner of Police (CP) Soumendra Priyadarshi told the media.
“In case a senior citizen has any problem, we will immediately respond after receiving the call on the said helpline number,” the CP added.
Priyadarshi informed that more than 25,000 senior citizens have registered their names and their phone numbers with the Commissionerate Police. As many as 70-80 interactions are carried out with the senior citizens from the call centres daily, he said.
“I want to tell the senior citizens that the Commissionerate Police are always with them and will try to remain with them in the coming days,” he added.
