Bhubaneswar: After reporting 10 new cases for two consecutive days, the daily caseload in Odisha saw a slight rise with 13 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to the I & PR department, 8 of these cases are from quarantine and 5 local contacts. Two among them are in the age group of 0-18 years.
Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:
1. Balasore: 1
2. Balangir: 2
3. Cuttack: 1
4. Kendrapada: 2
5. Khurda: 2
6. Puri: 1
7. Sambalpur: 3
8. Sonepur: 1
With these cases being detected from 18,886 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.06 per cent.
The new cases along with 11 recoveries in the last 24 hours have pushed the active tally to 107. Amid the downward trend in new infections, 13 districts – Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jharsuguda – in Odisha have become free from COVID.
Rayagada, Angul, Bhadrak, Kalahandi, Deograh have one active case each.
