Odisha Logs Highest DMF Collection In The Country: Chief Secy

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as a model state for others in collecting funds under District Mineral Foundation (DMF), informed Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Wednesday.

Following a review meeting with all chief secretaries through video conferencing, the Chief Secretary said, “The state has raised Rs 3,600 crore so far. The annual collection is around Rs 1,800 crore and target has been set to develop projects worth Rs 6,000 crore in one and a half month.”
The collected amount is being utilised for development of various public welfare projects relating to healthcare, the welfare of children and women in the mining-affected areas of the state, Padhi added.
The DMFs are statutory bodies established by state governments by notification as a trust or non-profit body in the districts affected by mining operations.
