Bhubaneswar: Another journalist has died due to COVID-19 in Odisha. Prabuddha Sundar Jagadeb breathed his last on early Wednesday morning at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar here after battling with the deadly coronavirus for the last few days.
He is survived by his wife Tapaswini, son Veer and mother.
An alumnus of BJB College, Bhubaneswar, and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Jagadeb (45) began his career as a journalist with Hindustan Times’ Bhubaneswar edition in 2001. He went on to work with The New Indian Express, The Telegraph, OTV (digital). He also served certain leading content providers outside the state and his articles were published in various media platforms including The Times of India, First Post and DailyO.in
Son of noted poet and academic Prafulla Jagadeb, he was associated with various literary and voluntary organisations like Bakul Foundation, Bhubaneswar.
Odisha has this far lost at least 31 journalists due to COVID during its second wave this year. At least four others had succumbed to the disease last year.
