Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has ordered morning sittings for all district and subordinate Courts, starting April 6.
According to the directive, regular court hours will be 7 AM to 1 PM with a 10 am to 10:30 am recess. However, the notification, issued on Tuesday, makes exceptions for the courts at
Berhampur, Chhatrapur, Bhubaneswar, Koraput (Sadar) and Puri (Sadar), where the revised schedule will not apply until the last working day of the summer vacation.
“The sitting of District & Subordinate Courts at all places in the State shall commence from 6.04.2026 (Monday) from 7.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. with a recess of half an hour from 10.00 A.M. to 10.30 A.M. and the Court sitting shall be from 7.30 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. except at Berhampur, Chhatrapur, Bhubaneswar, Koraput (Sadar) and Puri (Sadar) till the last working day of the Summer Vacation,” HC registrar (administration) Luna Mohanty informed.
The High Court has asked lawyers and litigants to plan their schedules according to the new timings.
