Balangir: Series of rituals for ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (consecration ceremony) of the new Ram temple has begun in Ayodhya. And the inaugural ceremony on January 22 is expected to be a star-studded affair with invites sent out to prominent people from various walks of life, including politics, business, sports, media, and movies, as well as prominent seers from across the country.
Sadhu Charan Panigrahy (54) from Odisha’s Balangir has been invited to pay obeisance to Lord Ram at the newly-built temple in Ayodhya on February 13.
This invitation brought back memories of November 2, 1990, when Panigrahi, who then barely out of his teens, was wounded in police firing while trying to enter the Babri Masjid with other kar sevaks. I received a bullet on my back and another on my left shoulder. I was admitted to a district hospital in Faizabad,” he was quoted as saying by TOI.
He is on cloud nine after receiving the invitation, which acknowledges his efforts in turning the dream of Ram Temple in Ayodhya into reality “I cried after getting the invitation to visit the temple. Finally, the day has come to see Ram Lalla at his own place,” he added.
