Balasore: Police have arrested a man from Jaleswar town in Balasore district for betting during the final one-day international match between India and Australia in Bengaluru on Saturday night.
Police raided Garage Bazar in Jaleswar and arrested Sheikh Amiruddin. They also seized Rs 1.30 lakh in cash and a mobile phone from his possession.
According to police, the betting racket operated online and money was deposited in the PhonePe account of the accused. Efforts are on to nab others involved in the racket, they said.
