Odisha Marshals Its Healthcare Resources To Fight COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: To marshal all resources available in Odisha to respond to the
COVID-19 challenge, the state government on Monday empowered Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Director, Medical Education & Training, Odisha and Director, Health Services, to start requisitioning for services of doctors, nursing staff, paramedical staff or anybody having expertise in healthcare management.

“The available healthcare personnel and resources under Government of Odisha may not be adequate to effectively deal with the situation and therefore, it is imperative to require the services of healthcare personnel available with government departments/ organizations, private sector and civil society organizations,” the notification issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department said on Monday.

“Such personnel shall forthwith respond to such requisition by Empowered Authority and
render such assistance as would be required of them,” it added.
