Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha government cancelling the Matric examinations 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Wednesday spoke about the mode of evaluation.
—The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will award the marks to the students as per its assessment methods.
—The results of the Class-X Board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board.
—Any candidate, who will not be satisfied with the marks awarded to him/her on this basis, will be given an opportunity to sit in an examination as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the examination.
—The Director, Secondary Education as the president of Odisha State Board of Madrasa Education will also take appropriate steps for awarding alternate mode of marks to the students who are supposed to appear in the Madrasa Board examination.

This is in tandem with the Education Ministry directive for evaluating CBSE Class X students’ performance for preparing the board exam results.
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had said that the CBSE would use internal assessments and practical exam marks to promote Class X students. “A candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams,” the official statement said.
