Baripada:  Tension prevailed at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Government Medical College and Hospital (PRM-MCH) in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district after a 15-year-old tribal girl accused a doctor of molesting her during treatment.

Baripada Town Police have detained the paediatrician and are questioning him over the allegation.

According to sources, the girl, who stays in the tribal hostel at Badasahi here, was taken to the hospital by the matron and her mother after she complained of abdominal pain on Monday. The doctor asked them to stay outside while he checked her. The girl, however, came out running and accused the doctor of touching her inappropriately during the check-up.

In their complaint, the girl’s family alleged that the doctor was drunk and misbehaved with their daughter on the pretext of treating her.
